Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

Act of Faith

O, my God, I believe that Thou art one God in Three Divine Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe that Thy Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all of the truths which Thy Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Act of Hope

O my God, relying on thy Almighty power and infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of all my sins, the help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

bullet

Act of Charity

O my God, I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou are all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart

Most sweet Jesus, whose overflowing charity for men is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt, behold us prostrate before Thee, eager to repair by a special act of homage the cruel indifference and injuries to which Thy loving Heart is everywhere subject.

Mindful, alas! that we ourselves have had a share in such great indignities, which we now deplore from the depths of our hearts, we humbly ask Thy pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary expiation, not only for our own personal offenses, but also for the sins of those, who, straying far from the path of salvation, refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow Thee, their Shepherd and Leader, or, renouncing the promises of their baptism, have cast off the sweet yoke of Thy law.

We are now resolved to expiate each and every deplorable outrage committed against Thee; we are now determined to make amends for the manifold offenses against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior, for all the foul seductions laid to ensnare the feet of the innocent, for the frequent violations of Sundays and holydays, and the shocking blasphemies uttered against Thee and Thy Saints. We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Thy Vicar on earth and Thy priests are subjected, for the profanation, by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of the very crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of the Church which Thou hast founded.

Would that we were able to wash away such abominations with our blood. We now offer, in reparation for these violations of Thy divine honor, the satisfaction Thou once made to Thy Eternal Father on the Cross and which Thou continuest to renew daily on our Altars; we offer it in union with the acts of atonement of Thy Virgin Mother and all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and we sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with the help of Thy grace, for all neglect of Thy great love and for the sins we and others have committed in the past. Henceforth, we will live a life of unswerving faith, of purity of conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the Gospel and especially that of charity. We promise to the best of our power to prevent others from offending Thee and to bring as many as possible to follow Thee.

O loving Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mother, our model in reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of this act of expiation; and by the crowning gift of perseverance keep us faithful unto death in our duty and the allegiance we owe to Thee, so that we may all one day come to that happy home, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit Thou livest and reignest, God, forever and ever. Amen

Morning Offering

Lord, I pray that I may live in the light of Your providential will, and enjoin all that happens, to a moment of Your redeeming life. I offer all my work, and deeds in union with Your holy work and miraculous deeds. I offer all mortifications and disciplines in union with Your obedience to Your parents both in heaven and, on the earth. I offer all of my prayers with Your prayers for the holy ones, that I too may receive the same blessings. Lord Jesus, I pray to endure all sufferings so to be united with Your Most Holy Passion, for the redemption of souls, and the redemption of poor sinners. I pray for the protection of Saint Joseph, that I too may live this day with all of his holy virtues I make this prayer through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven. Amen.

Night Prayer

Blessed be the Holy Trinity, One God, now and forever. Amen.

Glory to the Father, Who created me; glory to the Son, Who redeemed me; glory to the Holy Ghost, Who sanctifies me.

 Make an ACT OF ADORATION

ALMIGHTY and Eternal God, I adore You, and I thank You for all the benefits I have received this day through your infinite goodness and mercy. Give me light to know my faults and grant me grace to be truly sorry for my sins.

Here examine your conscience on the faults of the day; on the offenses against God, against your neighbor, and against yourself; on the commandments of God and of the Church; and particularly as regards your predominant passion, promises, and resolutions.

In the event that you have sinned grievously, resolve to go to confession at the first opportunity. Meditate for a few moments on eternity, death, judgment, heaven, and hell, mindful of the admonition of the Holy Spirit:

"In all your works, O man, remember your last end and you will never sin."

 Make an ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

 Make an ACT of LOVE

I Love You, my Lord and my God, with my whole heart and above all things, and for the love of You I love my neighbor as myself. Grant that I may love You more and more and give me the grace of perseverance, that I may live a holy life, die a happy death, and glorify You eternally in heaven.

Say an Our Father, Hail Mary, Apostles' Creed, Glory be

O sweetest Heart of Jesus! I implore

that I may ever love You more and more.

Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love!

Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!

Then say the MEMORARE

  (Remain kneeling from hear on)

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that any one who fled to your protection, implored your help, and sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto You, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. To You I come; before You I kneel, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate! despise not my petitions, but, in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

MARY! My Queen! My Mother! Remember I am your own. Keep me, guard me, as your property and possession.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, assist me in my last agony. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with you. Amen.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, and all the saints, pray for us to Our Lord, that we may be preserved this night from sin and evil. Amen.

O my good angel, whom God has appointed to be my guardian, watch over me during this night.

May Our Lord bless us and preserve us from all evil and bring us to life everlasting.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Then say Psalm 129, de Profudis, for the Faithful Departed.

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord:

Lord, hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

If you, O Lord, shall mark our iniquities: O Lord, who shall stand it?

For with You there is merciful forgiveness: and by reason of your law I have waited for You, O Lord.

My soul has relied on His word: my soul, hath hoped in the Lord.

From the morning watch even unto night, let Israel hope in the Lord.

Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with Him plentiful redemption.

And He shall redeem Israel from all His iniquities.

Have mercy, 0 Lord, have mercy on the poor souls in purgatory.

V. Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord;

R. And let perpetual light shine upon them.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer;

R. And let my cry come unto You.

Let us pray:

O GOD! the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your servants departed the remission of all their sins, that through pious supplications they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired, Who lives and reigns now and forever. Amen.

Visit, we beseech You, O Lord, this habitation, and drive far from it all the snares of the enemy:

Let your holy angels dwell herein, to keep us in peace, and may your blessing be always upon us. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Sprinkle your bed with holy water and, blessing yourself, say when you lie down to rest:

Lord, into your hands I commend my spirit.

Imprimatur, +John M. Farley, Archbishop of N.Y., Sept. 19, 1908.

Invocation

Grant, O Lord, this night to keep me without sin.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Prayer

Visit, we beseech you, O Lord, this dwelling, and drive far from it all snares of the enemy; let your holy Angels dwell herein, to preserve us in peace; and let your blessing be always upon us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

I adore you, my God, and I love you with all my heart. I give you thanks for having created me, for having made me a Christian, and for having preserved me this day. Pardon me for the evil I have done today; if I have done anything good, please accept it. Keep me while I take my rest and deliver me from all dangers. May your grace be always with me. Amen.

Jesus Christ my God, I adore you and thank you for all the graces you have given me this day. I offer you my sleep and all the moments of this night, and I beseech you to keep me without sin. Wherefore I put myself within your sacred Side and under the mantle of our Lady, my Mother. Let your holy Angels stand about me and keep me in peace; and let your blessing be upon me.

Family Prayer

O God of goodness and mercy, to Thy fatherly guidance we commend our family, our household and all our belongings. We commit all to Thy love and keeping; do Thou fill this house with Thy blessings even as Thou didst fill the holy House of Nazareth with Thy presence. Keep far from us, above all else, the blemish of sin, and do Thou alone reign in our midst by Thy law, by Thy most holy love and by the exercise of every Christian virtue. Let each one of us obey Thee, love Thee and set himself to follow in his own life Thine example, that of Mary, Thy Mother and our Mother most loving, and that of Thy blameless guardian, Saint Joseph. Protect us and our house from all evils and misfortunes, but grant that we may be ever resigned to Thy divine will even in the sorrows which it shall please Thee to send us. Finally give unto all of us the grace to live in perfect harmony and in the fullness of love toward our neighbor. Grant that every one of us may deserve by a holy life the comfort of Thy holy Sacraments at the hour of death. O Jesus, bless us and protect us.

O Mary, Mother of grace and of mercy, defend us against the wicked spirit, reconcile us with Thy Son, commit us to His keeping, that so we may be made worthy of His promises.

Saint Joseph, foster-father of our Savior, guardian of His holy Mother, head of the Holy Family,

intercede for us, bless us and defend our home at all times.

Saint Michael, defend us against all the evil cunning of hell.

Saint Gabriel, make us to understand the holy will of God.

Saint Raphael, preserve us from all sickness and from every danger to our lives.

Our holy Guardian Angels, keep our feet safely on the path of salvation both day and night.

Our holy Patrons, pray for us before the throne of God.

Yea, bless this house, O God the Father, who hast created us; O God the Son, who hast suffered for us upon the holy Cross, and Thou, O Holy Spirit, who hast sanctified us in holy Baptism. May the one God in three divine Persons preserve our bodies, purify our minds, direct our hearts and bring us all to everlasting life. Glory be to the Father, glory be to the Son, glory be to the Holy Ghost! Amen.

Note: An indulgence of 500 days once a day.

Prayer After Meals

We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, O Almighty God, Who livest and reignest forever. And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer to Redeem Lost Time

O my God! Source of all mercy! I acknowledge Your sovereign power. While recalling the wasted years that are past, I believe that You, Lord, can in an instant turn this loss to gain. Miserable as I am, yet I firmly believe that You can do all things.

Please restore to me the time lost, giving me Your grace, both now and in the future, that I may appear before You in "wedding garments." Amen.
